Position Description:
Ag Business Consultants provide a variety of financial planning, management, budgeting, and leadership services to agricultural business customers.
They participate as a member of the Business Services team and as a member of the overall sales team within their assigned sales region.
They are responsible for achieving the goals of the association and maintaining a positive Horizon Farm Credit image in the marketplace.
Areas of Responsibility Include but not limited to:
Provides business consulting services which include, but are not limited to, business planning services, cash flow planning and cost of production analysis, farm transition/succession planning and benchmarking programs.
Develops new business by identifying and pursuing prospective customers as well as expanding the relationships of existing customers and industry allies.
Educates prospective customers on Horizon's products and services, with a goal of identifying appropriate products & strategies to ensure customer success.
Services portfolio by providing sound advice and proposing consulting services to create maximum value for customers.
Educates and guides customers on sound credit and financial management.
Actively participates in educational programs for customers & prospects and are engaged with Horizon staff to share their product knowledge.
Presents at client educational meetings & workshops and delivers effective trainings and industry presentations.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Agriculture, Economics, Finance, or related field.
Generally, three to five years of agricultural finance/accounting experience; academic or practical experience in finance and/or accounting; some leadership experience preferred.
Ability to be assertive and decisive in arriving at sound business decisions which serves the best interest of the association and borrower.
Travels within assigned territory, spending a significant amount of time meeting with customers, prospects, and referral generators.
